Boulder County Youth Corps in Keep it Clean Partnership Communities

Greetings Keep it Clean Partnership Communities!

It’s that time of the year, when the youth of Boulder County enter into a rigorous application process, each hoping for the privilege of representing Boulder County. The selected few become members of the Boulder County Youth Corps. Every summer, they don blue work shirts, head out into the summer heat, and give back to their communities by educating, informing and working on projects related to local community issues.

This season, the Keep It Clean Partnership sponsored team is represented by five youth from Longmont, CO. They vary in ages from 14-17.

You may have already seen us out and about. Look for us in your neighborhood! We’ve been busy marking storm drains, posting informational flyers on doors, weeding and picking up trash along creeks, planting trees, fixing up trails, and more!

Its going to be a busy summer! Lots to do! The Youth Corps season lasts for eight weeks, and runs from June 18-August 8.

This week we’ll be in Longmont at the Union Res. planting trees to control erosion and digging trenches to control mosquito population and disease transmission.

Check back here to stay up to date on our latest project and where we’ll be.

Thank you for your continued support! We are looking forward to a great season.
