This year marks  the 75th anniversary of the legislation that created many of the organizations that built the foundation for the management of Colorado’s water resources, including the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Colorado River District,  and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District .

Over the next year, these and many more anniversaries will be linked together by Colorado Water 2012. The goal is to connect Coloradans to their water. From traveling exhibits and K-12 education programs, to book clubs and speaker’s bureaus, many exciting events are happening statewide and in Keep it Clean communinties this year. The event’s success was made possible by the Colorado Ocean Coalition, an affiliate of The Ocean Foundation.

In addition to celebrating the one year anniversary of the Colorado Ocean Coalition, Making Waves provided ample opportunities to learn more about climate change, marine protection, environmental impacts of plastics, sustainability, and protecting local waterways.
