Celebrate the Colorado Year of Water 2012. Each year nearly 2,000 BVSD and SVVSD 4th and 5th grade students attend one of two Water Festivals held in Boulder County. In 2012, the water festivals are on Wednesday, May 16th in Boulder and Thursday, May 17th in Longmont. Operation Water Festival is a fun, hands-on way for students to discover how drinking water is treated, learn how to protect and conserve our water, experience the history, geology, geography and science of water, and encounter the diverse plants and animals that rely on water for survival.
