Public Lands Today and Tomorrow: A Field Tour of Forestry and Fire Resilience in the St. Vrain Watershed

Discover the Future of Our Local Landscapes! Join the Watershed Center for a field tour led by members of the St. Vrain Forest Health Partnership. Explore upcoming forestry treatments on U.S. Forest Service lands around Gold Lake and learn about the exciting work happening on Boulder County Parks and Open Space. See firsthand how public land managers are strengthening the resilience of our communities and ecosystems to wildfire.

Event details:

  • Meet at Lyons Middle Senior High School. Transportation to Gold Lake will be provided by Boulder County.
  • Lunch provided, sponsored by CEMEX.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Scenic Landscapes: Enjoy the beauty of Gold Lake and a drive through the St. Vrain Watershed.
  • Expert Insights: Learn about forest management and wildfire resilience efforts.
  • Interactive Learning: Get involved and ask questions.

Accessibility notes: The tour will include riding in passenger vans, walking up to 1.5 miles on uneven terrain, and standing/sitting outside.
