Teachers, students, and other community members can now browse in-depth career profiles for staff involved with every aspect of water in our community. Each profile shows the unique path that person took to their career in water – their influences, educational and experience, and what they love most about their job.

Allison Wheeler - Wastewater Surveillance Unit Manager

My job is to oversee the state program that works with wastewater utilities and local public health agencies to collect and analyze wastewater samples to assess trends of disease within a community. I’m a Colorado native who loves camping with my family and hiking with my dogs.

Andrew Albright - Water Quality Specialist

I oversee the City of Longmont’s drinking water, wastewater, creek, and reservoir sampling programs. My job is to develop sampling protocols, analyze data, and communicate the results with other city staff. I love to sing and write songs. I play several instruments including the guitar, banjo, and ukelele.

Annita McCormick - Environmental Compliance Manager

I oversee the city of Louisville’s Environmental Compliance program, which is responsible for protecting water quality and works with industry, businesses, residents, and municipal operations to reduce pollutants entering the city’s drinking water and waterways. I love being active and taking on new challenges. I’ve done triathlons, marathons, a half iron man, and a 100-mile bike ride.

Christine Katz - Civil Engineer

My job involves organizing and managing road and storm water maintenance and capital improvement projects for the town. I am also the town’s floodplain manager and am responsible for the stormwater program. I love spending time with my family and taking my daughters to the park and zoo.

Darren Beck - Parks and Open Space Water Program Supervisor

I manage Boulder County’s water resources and water rights. My team works with attorneys and water resources engineers to develop new water rights and defend the county’s water rights in water court. Fly fishing and whitewater activities are one of my favorite ways to appreciate our rivers.

Greg Venette - Utilities Superintendent

My job is to oversee the operation, maintenance, and management of the city’s drinking water and wastewater treatment plants. I’m a musician and have a musical family. I’ve played in several bands on guitar, drums, and bass. My wife sings and plays piano, and my son plays several instruments.

 

Hope Bartlett - Water Conservation Specialist

I manage and implement the indoor and outdoor water conservation programs for Longmont community members and work across departments in the city to align water efficiency with broader city goals. I’ve always loved art—whether it’s admiring it, studying it, curating pieces for my home, or creating something special during arts and crafts time with my daughter.

Mack Johnson - GIS & Asset Management Analyst

I manage several types of water data and support water-focused groups at the City of Boulder. This position allows me to work with different water focused disciplines, from the source water reservoirs in the mountains to the wastewater treatment plant. I am an avid gardener with experience in building home aquaponics systems.

Natalie Teaze - Stormwater Quality Technician

I help keep the stormwater system in the City of Boulder free of pollution by inspecting and maintaining green infrastructure, monitoring water quality in Boulder Creek, and enforcing city code on illicit discharges. I’m an avid runner and watcher of women’s sports.

Pryce Hadley - Senior Watershed Ranger

I am responsible for managing natural resources and ranger operations in Button Rock Preserve, supporting water utility operations, and operating Button Rock Dam. This position, along with the rest of the ranger team, helps safeguard the primary drinking water source for 110,000 people in Longmont and Lyons.

Sarah Studdebaker - Senior GIS Analyst

My job is to support water utilities by maintaining and enhancing geospatial and asset management systems that drive operations, engineering, and planning. My work ensures accurate, accessible data for storm, sewer, and water distribution systems. I grew up as an avid horseback rider and am finally getting back into riding.

Sharla Benjamin - Engineer and Stream Restoration Project Manager

I lead teams at Boulder County to design and construct large stream and watershed restoration or cleanup projects. Some large projects I have worked on include stream habitat recovery following the 2013 flood and finding solutions for treating the water contamination associated with legacy mining near Nederland.

Stacy D. - Water Quality and Environmental Compliance Coordinator

I ensure that all City of Longmont projects are done in a way that protects our local waterways and meets important water quality regulations. Kayaking is my favorite way to spend time outdoors – I prefer the ocean to the mountains!

Taylor McCauley - Project Manager/Civil Engineer

I manage projects for the City of Louisville’s water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure they are running effectively. I also lead the city’s Internal Decarbonization project. I love being handy (it’s the engineer in me) and camping.

Trevor DePew - Water Treatment Supervisor

I lead operations that ensure safe, clean drinking water for the City of Louisville. My job focuses on building a strong, skilled team while fostering individual career growth. I used to be a professional level gamer, frequently showing up as a top 10 player in the world for Rocket League.
